ABOUT GRACE CENTRE FOR NEWBORN CARE
The Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care is a specialist unit, where more than 600 premature newborns, neonates and critically ill infants with complex medical conditions, such as serious cardiac and surgical disorders are treated.
This specialised unit provides urgent life-saving care for infants across NSW, ACT and the Pacific Rim -, some flown into the nursery within hours of birth. The Grace Centre is also the only accredited NIDCAP (Newborn Individualised Developmental Care and Assessment Program) training centre in Australia, leading the way in neonatal developmental care.
All of the generous funds raised from Race for Grace this year will go towards the area of greatest need - whether that’s ground-breaking research, cutting-edge technology or positive patient experiences.
“By participating in the Race for Grace people are becoming part of our team. They are contributing in a meaningful way to the care of sick babies who with their help will recover and go on to live full lives. They are making it possible for us to extend our services beyond the expected to the extraordinary. They are enabling us to be our best , which in turn means the very best of care for those babies and families who are depending on us.” - Professor Nadia Badawi AM
WHERE FUNDS RAISED FROM RACE FOR GRACE 20230 WILL GO?
We are raising vital funds to purchase a Giraffe Incubator.
Newborns in the NICU need extra special care from clinicians and their families. One of the most advanced, neurodevelopmentally supportive microenvironments, the Giraffe Incubator Carestation is specially designed to give babies the comfort and stability they need to grow, heal and go home healthy.
If you are unable to participate in Race for Grace, you can make a donation directly to Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care.
